The Bike Co-op, also known as the Santa Cruz Campus Bike Center, is a not-for-profit, full-service, cooperatively run bike shop. We are located at the heart of the UCSC campus, in the Redwood building at the Baytree Bookstore plaza. We offer all of the services that any bike shop would, but we also give customers the ability to become a part of our buisness. We do this through memberships, which include discounts and access to shop tools.
Because of the status of the Bike Co-op as a business, you will find that our staff is enthusiastic, helpful, and easy to deal with. This is because we are a business whose sole purpose is to make the facilities of a bike shop more accessible and affordable for the average bike enthusiast. Additionally, the Bike Co-op has as a sole interest the desire to promote enthusiasm, involvement, and education in bicycle riding and mechanichry. We are happy to discuss solutions to any bicycle-related problems; we are not simply mechanics, but advocates, and are generally well-versed in bicycle-related legislation.
